Simplifyy Raises Capital to Support Rapid Expansion
March 31, 2021
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – March 31, 2021 – UnitLeader, a San Diego-based venture capital group, has led a multimillion-dollar Series A investment round for Simplifyy, tapping the technology-based multifamily management company as its next forward-thinking partner. UnitLeader works with select firms seen as industry disruptors in the multifamily property space.
“The potential to change the way multifamily properties are managed is significant,” said Dana Zeff, Chief Disrupter at UnitLeader. “Simplifyy’s software integrates all functions of property management, providing a massive shift in the way multifamily properties will be managed in the future. We are excited to be a part of an organization that provides property owners a solution that is more effective, more efficient and more transparent than anything else on the market today.”
Co-founder and CEO Jake Lisby brought his deep software development experience to Simplifyy to build a platform that could make property management easier – and more profitable. Along with co-founder Paul Worcester, the team spent nearly three years building the software and beta testing on their own properties. Simplifyy delivered more efficient operations, a better experience for residents and an increased NOI for property owners.
“I immediately saw the opportunity to replace many of the manual aspects of property management with highly functional software,” said Lisby. “Most properties have been managed using multiple software programs that aren’t integrated, which creates inaccuracies and inefficiencies. We’ve achieved our very specific goal of developing software for the totality of managing operations. And, because the software is run by our team of multifamily industry veterans, we provide not only turnkey management, but best-in-class resident service.”
Closing the Series A round allows Simplifyy to continue rapid expansion into new markets.
“The relationship with an experienced and strategically aligned partner such as UnitLeader will allow us to continue to expand and invest in further development of our technology and build resources in new markets,” says Worcester. Simplifyy currently manages properties in Kansas City and Indianapolis, and is expanding to the DFW market area. Projected growth in 2021 includes entering Cincinnati, St. Louis, Phoenix and Columbia, SC along with other highly active multifamily markets.
Owners see lower operating costs

“Simplifyy erases the pain points, allowing owners to scale their operations smarter,” said Paul Nagaoka, real estate owner and developer in Kansas City, MO. “The efficiencies and increase in NOI can be seen across my properties, allowing me to scale up and further build out my portfolio.”
